See that beautiful maple baby right there in the middle? I'm the proud owner of a new (1980) Gretsch BST 1000. I've been wanting this guitar for about 3 years now, but only in the past couple months found out that it was reasonably priced! And I found it on ebay today, woohoo! Doesn't it just look amazing? I think the pickups might even be stock (DiMarzio SD from the late 70s). But everything else is stock, and the seller claims it's intoned up all 24 frets, although that seems dubious. Notice the "0" fret at the top of the neck. No sharp angles to be found anywhere on here, and it's supposed to be quite light.

...not to mention it's the same guitar Jon Foreman has... and all for the low low price of ... one month's rent :X

I was shocked at how deep that was coming from a fortune cookie (I googled it, it's actually an Oscar Wilde quote). I'm sure if you think about it for a second, examples come to mind. Without dissatisfaction, I guess there wouldn't be progress. That's kind of cool.

It's along the lines of "nullus diabolus nullus redemptor,"without the fall/devil/sin, could there be a savior? There would be nothing to save. But we took care of that, didn't we?

Women on the Front Line

Women are barred from U.S. military jobs that would place them on the front line, but some say all troops in Iraq are exposed to ground combat. What do you think?
